Here they be monsters!
Okay, I thought I'd post up the original designs that friend Daniel Keeble made (here for his website: http://www.danielkeeble.co.uk/) They are what inspired the monster you'll see below. Based off a piranha and an elephant. Surprisingly!
And now here's my take on the same monster XD I've added spikes and given him claws instead. When we do see him finalized and coloured, he'll be covered in beer and blood from the disasters he's caused during the party.
Joe's Final Design!
Exactly what it says on the tin. It was finally time you got to see Joe's original design. I made him a little more present, and possibly a little bit younger, so he matches your audience criteria, (modelled slightly off my own brother who is at that tender age where everyone else is drinking around him but he's not 18 yet)
Colour to come soon!!

Animatic Again!
Sorry for the long wait guys, here is the Animatic with sound with some added scenes and features, we've been discussing changes to to the ending and everything else but what do you guys think.
In the following few days I will be making character designs for the five main characters we see in the Animatic (Main character Joe / Monster, and three friends.)

Monster's Easter Update!
Visit to John Cabot went really well today, and was able to really talk in length about the Animatic and the monster design.
At the moment we're saving a space for the new monster design, due to the fact that my friend Mr. Dan Keeble has a virus on his computer and cant send it too me. However I will be making some modifications to it personally so I can use it in the final Animatic.
The main topics discussed were colour, the design of the monster and the use of sound and the kids were really happy with what I had come up with and gave me some new ideas!
I thought it was a great success and hope to put up more work over Easter. The final Animatic is to be up and running here on the blog on the 7th of April so I've got to get cracking.

Monster Project Animatic
Hey, there's lost of stuff to show you but here is something that I thought would be easier to put up here so you can see too. With this includes the new monster design and the timing for the animation that'll be drawn in flash.
I hope you like it, I'll be ready for feedback tomorrow!

Joe the Monster Coloured!
Here is our monster coloured by yours truly and a development of his colouring. I wasn't sure what else to do with him at the moment. (Designing monsters are fun, but VERY hard.) So let me know what you guys like and don't like about him.

I've also made a new project link which'll go on my websites so people can view it's progress as you can see below, as well as the blog logo!

Initial Designs for Joe and the Monster!
Ok guys, here's some work I've been doing on the monster and our main character we named Joe in our last workshop. It's just rough at the moment and the rough line art, but I hope you like it.
I am of course prepared to take critique as it's not just my project after all. I had a real hard time with the monster, but I plan to use colour to really make him look nasty on top of the initial design:

The Tropics Draw Their Monster...
Hi everybody, and welcome to John Cabot's Monster Project, in association with Sharp Shots, UWE and Aardman, Sorry for delay in posting, but personal life has been getting ahead of my work, but from now it all speeds up!
Here is just a sample of some of the terrifying monsters that the Tropics have thought about and designed for their monster, which has inspired me to start designing the other characters.
If you click on the thumbnails, you will get a much larger version.
